Despite the playful name, Pickleball is becoming a seriously competitive sport with thousands of people playing in tournaments across the country. Play for the social side or explore the strategy of one of the fastest‑growing sports.

What Is Pickleball?
Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis into one highly accessible game.

You play on a smaller court than tennis, with a light paddle and a perforated ball. This means:
-
Less running and easier court coverage
-
Longer rallies and more time actually hitting the ball
-
Simple rules you can learn in minutes, not months

It is designed so beginners can get started quickly, while still offering tactical depth for intermediate and advanced players.
Why People Love Playing Pickleball
People are drawn to Pickleball because it is:
-
Inclusive: suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels
-
Social: doubles play, rotating partners, and a friendly community feel
-
Great exercise: cardio, coordination, and agility in a format that feels like play
-
Easy on the joints: shorter court, controlled movements, and lighter impact

You can choose your own pace, whether that be relaxed social games, regular weekly exercise, or structured, competitive play.
Game Options & House Rules
To keep games flowing and enjoyable for all players, Pickleball at Elanora Squash and Fitness is offered in three formats, each with a simple, clear ruleset.

-
You cannot win the point directly off the serve

-
For the safety of other players, no drilling balls at another person
